Monster Hunter Wilds is a hunting action game developed and published by Capcom. It follows a professional monster hunter working with the Forbidden Lands Research Commission. Players investigate the region, hunt powerful monsters, collect materials, and use those resources to create stronger weapons and armor.
The game is built around hunting large monsters and adapting to a changing ecosystem. The Forbidden Lands can shift between harsh conditions with aggressive monster activity and more abundant natural environments. These environmental changes are an important part of exploration and hunting.
Monster Hunter Wilds supports both solo play and online multiplayer. Its cross-play functionality allows players on the supported platforms to play together, making cooperative hunts a major part of the game's design.
The game was released simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Capcom has also confirmed development of a Nintendo Switch 2 version, but that version was not part of the original release and therefore is not listed below as currently released.
