Black Myth: Wukong is a single-player action RPG developed and published by Game Science. The game draws heavily from Chinese mythology and the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. Players assume the role of the Destined One and explore a mythical world filled with enemies, characters, and locations inspired by the source material.
Combat centers on staff-based techniques, spells, abilities, transformations, weapons, and equipment. Players can combine these options to develop different approaches to combat and face a variety of powerful opponents.
The game also places emphasis on exploration and character stories. The Destined One encounters numerous characters and creatures whose backgrounds and motivations can be discovered beyond the game's battles.
Black Myth: Wukong was first released for Windows PC and PlayStation 5 on August 20, 2024. An Xbox Series X|S version followed on August 20, 2025. The official Game Science website currently lists PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, WeGame, and Xbox Series X|S as supported platforms.
