Dragon's Dogma 2 is a single-player, narrative-driven action RPG developed and published by Capcom. It takes place in a fantasy world of swords, magic, monsters, and competing kingdoms. Players assume the role of the Arisen and can customize their character, select a vocation, and decide how to approach different situations.
A defining feature of the game is its Pawn system. The player's main Pawn can be customized and accompanies the Arisen throughout the adventure. Players can also recruit two additional Pawns, creating a party of up to four characters. Pawns are AI-controlled companions that can fight alongside the player and provide support during exploration and combat.
Combat supports several distinct vocations, including Fighter, Archer, Thief, Mage, Warrior, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, Mystic Spearhand, and Trickster. Different vocations provide different weapons, abilities, and combat approaches. The game also emphasizes exploiting enemy weaknesses, using the environment, and adapting to the composition of the player's party.
Dragon's Dogma 2 was released for current-generation consoles and PC in March 2024. Capcom officially lists the original release platforms as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for October 9, 2026 as part of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, rather than as an original standalone release of the 2024 game.
