Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action RPG developed and published by CD PROJEKT RED. It is set in Night City, a futuristic metropolis dominated by corporations, advanced technology, body modification, and organized crime. Players take the role of V, a mercenary attempting to establish a reputation in the city.
The game combines exploration, shooting, melee combat, driving, character progression, and dialogue-driven storytelling. V can be customized through attributes, skills, weapons, and cyberware, while different choices can affect aspects of the game's story and relationships with characters.
The central storyline follows V's pursuit of a prototype implant associated with the possibility of immortality. During the story, V encounters Johnny Silverhand, a rebellious rockerboy portrayed by Keanu Reeves, as well as numerous other characters and factions across Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 originally launched for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia in December 2020. Later versions and updates brought the game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the Ultimate Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. A native Apple-silicon Mac version was also released with Update 2.3.
