Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the sequel to Death Stranding, created by Hideo Kojima and developed by KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. The game follows Sam Bridges and his companions on a new journey beyond the United Cities of America, with the story centered on humanity, connection and survival.
Gameplay combines open-world exploration, cargo delivery, combat, stealth and vehicle travel. Players cross varied environments on foot and by vehicle while dealing with human and otherworldly enemies, environmental hazards and changing conditions. The game is presented from a third-person perspective.
The sequel expands the series' setting to Australia, where Sam attempts to connect the continent to the Chiral Network. Players can choose different approaches to obstacles, including fighting, sneaking past threats or avoiding dangerous areas altogether.
Death Stranding 2 originally launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025. A Windows PC version followed on March 19, 2026, with the PC release developed in collaboration between KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS and Nixxes Software.
